A maze, indeed. The whole place is lit only with artificial light, without any windows it's hard to tell where it is.
Some of the doors open to show rooms, some lead to other corridors and some won't open. If you look closely, there are some items here and there - pack of cigarettes with clovery ornament, pink cardigan, or even chocolate bar. There's also someone watching Matt from the distance, hidden in shadow.

As soon as Matt touches the cigarettes, flashback appears. First, Allelujah and Lockon - one without the eyepatch - can be seen, talking. Their voices are muted, and only fragments can be heard. They're talking about someone named Marie.
Then the scene changes; it replays Lockon meeting with Matt to take his puppy, afterwards it changes to Matt's death in Adstringendum.
For the whole time, Allelujah is watching from the distance.
The place seemed lifeless. That was the first thought that came into Tieria's mind. Tieria walked along the long, grey corridors. The whole thing had something of a hospital, it seemed more than a scientific research lab, though.
It's only proven when next door open to a scene with two men in lab coats and visors over eyes that are too busy connecting lots of cables to a child. After a moment scene vanishes, leaving empty room behind.
Suddenly, there's a voice, muted and resonating in your head, not in your ears. 'Can you hear me?' It's girl's voice; following it will lead further into greyish corridors to encounter small figure, staying motionless before the door. A small Allelujah with bandage on his head.
Tieria is a bit surprised at the sudden sound in his head.
Quantum Brainwaves.
There was no other explanation that he could hear that voice. And than he spotted his usual partner and fellow Meister - Allelujah Haptism. So this was probably the HRL-labm in which they performed those gruesome experiments Tieria had seen as soon as Sumeragi Lee Noriega had given the data to Veda. He looked at the boy. How could humans experiment on children like that?
Allelujah for a moment doesn't notice you, but when he does, he suddenly freezes. He doesn't speak, doesn't move, only looks at Tieria not recognizing him.
The corridor seems even more cold, if it's even possible.
The place reminds Vincent of the Shinra labs and containment facilities. The ones for 'specimens'. The ones he spent so much time locked in, undergoing barbaric treatment.
There doesn't seem to be a way out in sight, just endless corridors lined with doors. Closer inspections shows what looks like horizontal mako containers, thought they do not, of course, contain anything resembling mako. The whole place is silent, which makes the foosteps stand out all the more.
It only takes Vincent a second to decided to walk, carefully, toward the noise.
Suddenly, there's a voice echoing in there; children's voices. What's strange, the only one can be really heard. The next door open to show a flashback. Small Allelujah, with bandage on his head, is sitting on the edge of container, reading something aloud and pausing to comment to girl closed in glass case; she doesn't speak but you can hear her voice resonating inside your head. Both of the children seem happy.
Then, the scene vanishes, leaving only empty room with cracked glass.
Vincent watches the small Allelujah, and the girl who looks like this aggressive young woman who seems to know him. They look like good friends ... and then the scene vanishes in a flicker.
Vincent leaves the room. The whole place is uncomfortable to him, too close to bad memories, and he somehow has confirmation that the connection he's been feeling to Allelujah is not just a flight of fancy, but that they were both, at one point, caged beasts wanting to escape.
He continues walking towards the footsteps, but they seem to keep getting away from him.
The whole place is a maze; it's leading somewhere without letting know if you'd been here or not. It doesn't help at all that each corridor looks the same, each turn is even more confusing.
Suddenly, there's a voice resonating in your head. 'Can you hear me?' It seems to be coming from one of the door, the metal surface almost freezing to the touch.
This place was creepy. Duo didn't really have a love of hospitals, and that was putting it mildly. The whole feel reminded him of a sterile hospital, leaving him cold inside. The building itself was cold, too. He shivered. Feeling like he couldn't stay where he was, he started moving forward down the long corridor. He poked his head in some of the rooms, but the voices he was hearing kept moving away. They weren't in these rooms here, they were down the hall... always down the hall. Was that a shadow?
He frowned, pausing in his walk. What was this place?
The voices continued, guiding him through the corridors. It almost seemed like they wanted him to follow further and further in the harsh light. Some of the doors looked almost inviting, while the others radiated cold.
There was no one in sight, no one. Still, the voices were there, somewhere around, sounding near to vanish for a long moment.
Duo frowned a bit, wanting to find the voices, yet... those doors. The cold ones bothered him, but a sense of morbid curiosity drew him to them. The others were inviting enough. He tried to closest door, noting it seemed somewhat welcoming.
The scene it opens to is warm. You need to shield your eyes from the sun, suddenly finding yourself on a beach. It looks like an island, vibrant colors and warmth assaulting the senses.
You can hear voices. In some distance, Lockon is cutting Setsuna's hair, further on the beach there's Allelujah and Tieria cooking something. They all seem happy, talking and laughing.
The scene fades away slowly, leaving only empty room behind.

Cold. Distant. Detached.
The entire thing seemed to crowd in on the senses and yet do nothing, nothing at all, painfully still, medical, empty.
Oliver didn't exactly hate it, but it was close. Holding the bottom of his shirt with both hands, he turned in a circle once, and then started off. He had to find something else, something different, something...something...

The next room seemed almost welcoming. Almost. The moment you step inside, the scene starts playing. A fight between giant robots, few different ones. It's hard to see anything aside from that four of them are winning. Then it changes as suddenly, showing damaged part of space station floating in space. There are two of similar robots trying to stop it from falling closer to earth; suddenly, a flash as one part of it is shot and the robots succeed in pushing it away.

Stumbling back, away from the scene of destruction, frowning, Olvier turned and hurried deeper. Away from it.
Shoulders hunched a little, he avoided the next several rooms, however inviting they felt. Something wasn't right, that was clear, but what it was, that wasn't so clear. And then, without meaning to, he turned into another room, thinking that the doors lead to a new corridor, instead.

The corridors seem less colder after it.
