Tails was in the middle of helping Skip make breakfast that moment and simply called out that she could come in. He hadn't expected her so early, but didn't mind. Odds were if Charmy saw her regardless of time of day he'd try to talk her ear off and make friends. Skip could have been more please but he rarely liked unexxpected visitors anyway.

"Hi, Ace. Would you like something to eat?"

"Nah, thanks, I - " Ace's voice died off halfway through te sentence as she got a good look at Tails. She knew he'd had a rough time, gotten caught and all, but he'd been rescued, he was all right. He was supposed to be...

"Bloody - " she choked out, stifling the curse. "What's happened to your arm?"

A little offput by the reaction, Tails instinctively tucked his arm, which was mechanical from the elbow down, behind his back. "Well, the fuy who kidnapped me wanted to turn me into a robot to test out his roboticizer, but Sonicand everybody saved me bofore he could finish. It's still my arm see..." Un tucking his arm he pulled the fur back exposing an area where, somehow, the flesh simply turned into dull orange steel. "...it's just a robot."

Though she tried, it was hard for Ace not to stare. She'd seen weirder of course, and yet the way the flesh and metal just melted together in that way was - it wasn't natural. Suddenly a deep pang of guilt hit her, she should've been there for Tails when he needed rescuing and instead she was off sulking about the Doctor. Ballsed it up something good, girl. She looked up from the arm and caught his eyes.

"I'm sorry," she mumbled. "I'm sure you can - I dunno, reverse-engineer it? You're clever."
