Summary: Dr. Uzuki convinces Wufei to let him heal his broken arm.
Wufei stretched up on his feet, a book in hand. He squinted his eyes, trying to make out the titles on the shelves to figure out where he'd taken the book from. Without glasses or contacts, he was fairly nearsighted.
"Are you alright Chang?" Jin asked as he walked into the area of the bookstore Wufei was in.
"Perfectly fine," he said. If he could just make out... there. He slid the book into place.
Jin chuckled and put the books he was carrying down. "These weren't put away correctly downstairs."
He glanced at the books, unable to see them too clearly.
"Do you need glasses?"
"I have glasses," Wufei said. "They're still in our building, unfortunately."
"I'll let you go back there."
"I wasn't aware I needed permission."
"You're still my patient."
Wufei frowned, picking up the next book.
"Let me heal your arm, and you can go back."
"I would prefer to heal the normal way," the pilot said.
"And in this world, you need to constantly be at full health." the former soldier replied.
Peering closely at the other books, he didn't speak. As he'd said before, the doctor's abilities made him uneasy despite their usefulness.
Jin wasn't going to back down from this. "I will get Winner to talk to you."
"What makes you think that he'll be able to change my mind?" he asked, hiding a wince.
"Your ranks are easy to figure out. Even though Yuy acts like the leader, the real one you turn to is Winner."
Wufei sighed, frowning as he turned to look at the man. "Why are you pushing this?"
"I know what's it's like..."
"What what is like?"
"To be a soldier. To be injured and feel so helpless."
"I am not helpless," Wufei said firmly.
"If an enemy where to come into the room right now, and I wasn't here, what would you do? Your dominate arm is broken."
He firmed his jaw stubbornly. "I've trained with both arms."
Jin raised an eyebrow.
"I was a warrior before I became a pilot," Wufei said.
He sighed a bit. "Chang..."
Not responding, he went to try and pass the doctor.
Jin grabbed Wufei's unbroken arm and twisted while he put his other hand against a pressure point on Wufei's neck.
Wufei froze, glaring at Jin as best as he could out of the corner of his eye. "Release me."
"I'll let you go only if you can get free."
He flung a leg out in a kick.
Using the momentum, he grappled Wufei to the ground and pinned him.
He growled, struggling to free himself.
Jin kept him easily pinned.
"Damn you."
"What?"
"Let me go!"
"Only if you can get free."
Wufei freed his good arm, ignoring the pain as his weight was placed on the broken one. He swung at the taller man.
Jin reached out, grabbing the arm and twisting it hard.
The pilot hissed.
"If you had both arms, this wouldn't be an issue, now would it Chang?"
Wufei went limp, waiting for the other man to let down his guard.
Jin didn't let his guard down, he knew better.
He let out a breath grudgingly. "Fine."
He rose to his feet, offering Wufei his hand.
He took it, face blank.
Jin pulled Wufei to his feet.
Brushing himself off, he looked at the doctor flatly.
Crossing his arms over his chest, the black haired man waited.
"Just do it."
"Do what?"
"You wanted to heal my arm, didn't you."
Jin smiled and moved over to Wufei. Putting his hands on the broken arm he focused. "Ha, ki..."
Wufei forced back a flinch.
A gentle blue glow surrounded Wufei as his arm began to heal.
Wufei looked at his arm closely, keeping some of his attention on Jin at the same time.
Jin did nothing other than heal his arm.
He started to untie the bindings on his arm.
He stepped back and watched Wufei. "How does it feel?"
Flexing his arm, he glanced up at the man. "Better."
"Good."
Wufei nodded. He'd thank the man when his irritation at being pinned had faded.
He watched Wufei.
"Am I free to go now, Doctor?" he asked.
"Of course."
He nodded, keeping a sharp eye on Jin as he walked past him towards the door.
Turning, he watched Wufei go. "Be sure to bundle up."
"Of course."
Jin nodded and then moved to put the books away.
