Kurotsuchi was not doing well. Even the event that had blinded him would've been preferable - in either case he wasn't getting any work done (and that was the important thing), and at least at that time he'd been alone, if incredibly bored. Now he was very much not alone, and unable to forget it, even for a few minutes.

"So you're lazy on top of everything else?" Even snapping at him didn't do anything to help relieve stress, but at this point he couldn't have stopped himself, even if he'd wanted to. Especially since he was uncomfortably aware by now that Kenpachi really could just drag him along, despite protests. At one time he'd thought he could acclimate to anything; the past week had shattered that particular illusion, and he was too miserable to even take much comfort in knowing that Kenpachi had to be at least as unhappy about the current situation as he was.

"I don't want to watch you sleep again," he added, pretending he wasn't being sullen.

Kenpachi glared at Mayuri's remark. He couldn't do anything fun with the other captain attached to him - it messed up his fighting style. He also wanted to keep Kurotsuchi away from Yachiru, so he was missing her. Add to that the fact that he didn't want to go back to his place for everyone there to see what he was dealing with, and you had a rather bored and agitated Kenpachi.

"Yeah. 'cause we got all sorts o' options o' stuff ta do. We can walk. 'r we can walk more. 'r we can sit. How can I resist doin' those?" Slime-blob. That would have been worse, he could have been stuck to Kurotsuchi's slime-blob-thing. He didn't give a care what its name was.

Kenpachi's glare got harder. "Ya watch me when I sleep? I didn't think ya could get any creepier... Wha' tha fuck is wrong wi' ya tha' yer watchin' me sleep? You better not be gettin' any ideas, 'cause I'll remove 'em..." His hand rested on the hilt of his zanpakutou. That sort of a thing might be enough to warrant getting poisoned.

At least they weren't back in his lab. Originally, he'd considered trying to convince the other to go back there, since at least it'd mean being out of view of most people. But considering the constant threat of violence, he'd quickly tossed out the idea. If he died, that was one thing - it was starting to feel like it'd be a good thing, by now - but getting his lab trashed in the process was to be avoided.

Which meant walking. Or what passed as walking. And becoming progressively more stressed.

"Do you think I want to?" Kurotsuchi returned his glare with another one, feeling another rush of irritation that he had to look up to do so. Usually he was indifferent to the large height difference, but everything was another source of annoyance now. And it was all Zaraki's fault. "Do you think I enjoy it? How can I sleep well with you right there ( ... )

Kenpachi was glad they weren't in Mayuri's lab as well. There was no telling what wrong things Kurotsuchi might have in there. While in most situations he liked to be at risk, he did not feel the same way about situations regarding the 12th Division. But there were few alternatives left to them ( ... )
