Jotaro knew that it was very bad of him to run around on his own in a place he didn't know; Mother would probably be very upset when she found him, and the thought of her worried made the seven years old both anxious and sad. But the city fascinated as much as it scared him in a way only children really appreciate, and when he found the puddle he forgot everything.

It was a huge puddle and full of tadpoles, but that wasn't the best thing. The best thing was that it was in a ditch outside what must have been a pet store, because there were the remains of an broken aquarium in the window, and the fish from that aquarium lived in the puddle now, big fat guppies and cleaners and black bug-eyes telescope goldfish, swimming around. Jotaro thought they were the most wonderful thing he'd seen in his life. He'd been sitting there, transfixed, for what felt like hours, when the girl came wandering by.

The small dark boy glanced up, surprised - he didn't expect to see anyone - then immediately moved to block the view of his prize. It was his

Asuna turned her head to the sound of the voice. Another child? Many people seemed to be de-aging, including herself--but in a way, her age didn't change at all. No matter. This boy was the thing to capture her attention right then.

"Mm?" She nodded once. "Sure."

Layton had been walking around himself. The trademark hat and coat helped him fight the bitter cold, but his recently-acquired scarf was even better. He adjusted his red scarf and continued his walk in the brisk cold.

Eventually, a familiar red-headed girl caught his eye. He was walking towards her. "Ah...!"

Asuna's ears picked up the sound, and she looked over her shoulder.

"Mr. Layton," Asuna stated, her expression unchanging. "Hello."

Layton talked closer to her. "Hello there." He answered with his usual smile. "Talking a walk in the cold, I see?" Expressing the previous statement, he subconsciously put his hands in his pockets.

The child nodded. "Yes. You seem to be, too."
