The nights had gotten not only creepier, but decidedly more dangerous over the last week. Itachi had spend most of every night roaming the streets. Mostly out of curiousity, half out of prudence. It was not a good policy to sit at home twiddling your thumbs when monsters inexplicably made their way into what was supposed to be the "safe" zone ( ... )

A body slid unceremoniously off a rusty sword, snagging slightly when pieces of flesh or muscle caught on the dried blood and rust. It landed on a heap in the ground, limbs akimbo and head rolling back to stare up at the sky. Its skin was peeled away from its face, leaving only a grotesque mass of meat and bone, visage twisted into a horrified scream. The rest of the body's skin was also peeled away, bits and pieces clinging on.

There came a sudden jerky movement, lumbering and lurching forward, each step tortured and irregular. A low scraping sound filled the air, the rusty sword cutting long scars into the pavement. Slowly, Pyramid Head advanced.

Itachi had seen worse in his time. Bodies torn and mangled. Flesh stripped from bone or muscle by blade or jutsu or burning. Limbs splayed in awkward ways that no human body could stand to keep, while alive.

But being desensitized didn't make the sight pleasant. And the creature was exactly what had been described to him. Except, Itachi noted, they'd forgotten to mention the aura of menace and evil that surrounded the thing.

But maybe others just couldn't sense it. It was had to believe anyone could miss it, that dark feeling, but...

Hand reaching for his sward, Itachi closed his fingers around the blade, gathering chakra as he considered the advancing... Man? Creature? There was no indication this thing would be susceptible to genjutsu, it seemed more animal than sentient, and it had spotted him.

Fight or flee?

Fight. Itachi was confident in his power, and this thing was a danger to be eliminated. The shinobi drew his blade and activated his sharingan, trying to analyze what the things weaknesses might be.

Pyramid Head lurched onward, each step drawing him closer. He had no reason to fear the human before him--shinobi or not, he was still very human. He had a goal at hand and nothing would deter him from it.

He was the executioner and once more he would serve his duty.

His hand tightened around his sword and in sharp contrast to his slow and jerky movements, he raised the blade with a single hand and swung, the massive blade sailing swiftly through the air as if it weighed no more than tin foil.

Quatre wasn't happy. Aftab had gotten out. He didn't know where the tiny kitten had gone to. With a sigh, he shivered.

He didn't want to be out right now, but he wanted to find his cat. The night scared him right now. With that... That... Thing back. Shuddering, Quatre reached around for his gun. The familiar weight in his hand, he felt a little more secure.

The fog was heavy and he was shivering.

A horrid scream broke through the air, the sound of a person suffering through his last seconds of torment. Almost materializing out of the fog, the thick smell of decay and blood wafted up, panicked screaming tearing through the air as Pyramid Head lifted up a twitching and flailing body, hand tightly gripping the victim's head in a vice-like grip before squeezing.

Fingers punctured skin and bone, brain, bone fragments, and blood seeping between the fingers and dripping down. The body convulsed a final time before it was dropped on the ground, crushed under slow moving steps, heavy blade dragging through the concrete and body.

Quatre froze, the fear rising in him. He turned around, eyes widening. "Oh god no..." he whispered.

He took a few steps backwards, shaking as the stench hit him first. "No..."

Duo was not happy. Quatre was missing from the apartment, and they had made a deal between the five of them that they wouldn't go out alone until all the creepy Halloween crap was overwith. Now, he was out there, probably chasing that stupid cat again. She was more trouble than she was worth. First falling through the floor, then luring him out into the fog... that cat was going to get him killed ( ... )

Michael, Tieria October 29th, after shortly before midnight fragile_proud October 30 2008, 06:14:57 UTC
Tieira walked up the familiar stairs of the building in which he had met with Sion as they had wanted to meet with Pyramid Head. Or rather, she wanted to observe Pyramid Head, his intentions had been quite different to that. Not that his real reason was less foolish this time to see it again, but he connected precious memories with it and he wanted to show her, in a way, that this would be going better than last time. He was properly equipped for it, and could even rely on the magic powers he received during this event. He had learnt to control them more or less, and wouldn't hestitate to use them. He slightly wondered if he could turn Pyramid Head into a frog, but that wasn't really a thing he should try out.

He has told Michael to come with him. If he had a choice, he would have rather asked Setsuna, but since the other Meister was stucked as a mummy, and he didn't want to bring Lockon into danger again. Still, he had slight doubts if Michael Trinity would come here, as he didn't seem too enthusiastic at first.

"God daaaaaamn." Michael Trinity whined under his breath as he walked towards their meeting place, a hand rising to scratch at his thick blue hair. He was, once again, stuck in that ridiculous Magical Girl outfit, with the golden tiara on his head, and the skirt short as ever. He frowned in annoyance as he approached Tieria, arms folded across his chest.

"Yo, Sugar-nuts," he called out, half-grumbling. "I came because I promised." For some reason, he felt compelled to go through with his promises and all that- he was sure it was the weird costume. The young man yawned after a moment, placing a hand on his hip.

"So, all I know is that we're going to meet this Executioner fellow, for some reason. That it?" he asked, an eyebrow lifting. The hand on his hip absentmindedly caressed the knife he had shoved into the hem of the skirt, the only weaponry he seemed to have.

"If so, lead the way."

Tieria couldn't help but still feel a bit amused about Michael's... well, outfit. It looked so ridiculous in a way, but it was good he wasn't the type who burst out laughing, or to show his amusement in general. And he didn't really look better. It was a good thing that this witch-costume... well, it was long, so it didn't exactly look like a dress, as it wasn't tight, too. He would have just prefered to wear his mobile suit uniform, since it provided more protection.

'I came because I promised.'
That was a weird thing for Michael to say, but it was good that he came. At least nobody could accuse him for 'going alone' now.

Tieria nodded him in a short greet and to answer his question at the same time. "That it is, but...", he trailed of. "I can't exactly show you a 'way', it will just come. But we have a good chance that it will appear here."

Michael blinked in confusion. They weren't going anywhere? What? he blinked again for good measure. "So. We're going to sit here and wait for this executioner thing to find us." He repeated, brows coming together in annoyance. This was very strange and abrupt and silly.

And he was still in the stupid outfit. That bugged him too.

"Arrrrgh!" He let out a frustrated noise, stomping on the ground with a foot to convey his rage. "Why can't you be clear about things! Why are we here! What is it that we're waiting for?!" Other than the fact that it was called 'The Executioner', Michael had no idea what it was that would supposedly be coming.

"And what do we do if it doesn't come? Does this still count as a favour?!" That was the pressing concern to Michael.

Vincent hadn't been around the first time, so he didn't know what the Executioner was exactly. Nor did he exactly care, apart from the fact that it seemed to make everyone freak out.

Right now, he just wanted to shoot some things to soothe his nerves. So he took a high vantage point on top of a ruined building, and started sniping the weird, stumbling zombie forsm in the streets below.

Brooklyn sat on the building nearby, the sound of some gunshots catching his attention. He frowned slightly and jumped off, gliding off over the fog to investigate.

Chaos was on the lookout for anything out of the ordinary ... well, anything other than ordinary walking corpse, and signalled the approaching presence to Vincent, but the gunman did not turn around. He'd found out that the Fire materia was quite useful in reducing the dead bodies to cinders. Besides, he needed to cleanse his mind of what had happened before with Rinoa, so focusing on the simple act of aiming, shooting, aiming again and re-loading was very, very nice.

He could always shoot the newcomer too if he or she turned out to be an enemy, after all.

Brooklyn landed quietly behind Vincent, watching him for a moment.

"Where I'm from... the ghouls are people in costume," he remarked, watching as he blasted another one. "You uh... do this often? or is it just something about this weird place?"

The gargoyle walked over towards him, his claws clicking slightly on the rooftop as he moved.

Kisame was looking for a good fight, and had heard about some menace roaming the city. This was intriguing to him. He decided to go out and see if he could find this menace to test his fighting skills.

Setting out, he could feel adrenaline flowing through him.
