hm I have a question: me and my friend usually RP like this: we post to journal in journal style but in the comments we tend to use action base. this is because the characters we RP are twins and are always together, so it would be awkward to assume they only talked through the communicators and it would also be bothersome to log every single action. If we see there's going to be a lot of action like, for example, a battle or something we post in the logs. We also log if we want to meet with other characters, etc.
So my question is if this form of roleplaying is okay with you? Because we had a bad experience in the past and we want to be sure you guys won't mind this.

I'm assuming you're referring to action commenting/spamming with your question, so I'll answer it as such. If I'm off, feel free to say so. ^^

We have no issue with action commenting, so long as it's not overly abused. Day-to-day actions are fine, but as you said, battles and other major events are suited to full logs outside of the character journals. It's also recommended that if you have an event that you specifically want others to see/know about and want to take care of the log via comments, you should use the log comm for that.

Does that clear things up?

Yep that's it.

Hm yes, that's what I meant. If I know there are going to be some major events like battles, or if the characters decide to do things with other characters like shopping, cooking, etc that will be posted in the logs of course.

Thanks :p

In regards to housing, are there buildings set aside for people to live in (such as safe houses, organized shelters, etc.) or are there just abandoned buildings people are free to live in?

Also how about general locations and money? I'm assuming there are operational stores (and other places such as restaurants/bars) around the town? If that's the case, is there a set currency or is any form of currency accepted?

Though on the other side, would it be safe to assume there are abandoned stores and such that can be looted for supplies?

Sorry for all the questions. ^^;;

And sorry, one more question. ^^;

Are obviously non-human characters allowed in the RP? I guess examples would be some of the races from Warcraft (Orcs, Trolls, Tauren, Foresaken/Undead, etc.) or even sentient Pokemon (such as Mewtwo and Lucario).

HO SHIT O.o Didn't get any notifications for these, I am SO SORRY!

In general there are abandoned buildings for everyone to live in. People can choose where they want to stay, though current events say that the Project is trying to get together a building force to help renovate an area to make it more inhabitable inside the Safezone.

Money doesn't exist ATM. It may at a later time, but we haven't worked that out yet. When more of the city is renovated, that will be come an issue. We'll get back to you on that :)

Yes, you can loot whatever you feel like for supplies. If you run out of food, feel free to hunt in the wastelands for tasty monsters!

And yes again, non-human characters can be apped.

No problem at all! Kevin actually answered most of the questions for me. ^^;;

But this will be useful for anyone else who may be uncertain, so thank you for answering. ♥

Hmm, I have some questions.
1) Is there electricity here?
2) If someone dies and later cames back to life, does s/he loses a possesion/memory/ability completely, or can it come back later?

1.) At the moment, no.

2.) I was thinking completely, but actually, lemme talk to Kevin and I'll get back to you on that :)

Thank You! I actually have a few more question - what about water there? Is there running water in the houses/buildings? Is there gas (sorry, has no idea how it's called - to cook)? Or do they have to find a really old stove and search for something flammable in order to prepare meal?
I just want to make sure ;)

There is water down in the sewers, and in old fountains and probably backed up in old plumbing and whatnot, and there's rain water, but no running system. Things like gas, electricity and running water are things that the charas will probably need to ban together and fix themselves :)

I have a question. If one is considering a character that is, in fact, a ghost in canon, would they be forced into the role of animus in game? Or if they were a ghost that was able to manifest in the living world anyway, would they essentially stay the same?

Thanks. :D

The Animus aren't like ghosts, per say, since they've never actually lived or died, but are a separate type of spiritual entity all together. If we're talking ghost as in someone that died and has passed on, then they would either be brought back to life - like L in Death Note - or like the Bleach Shinigami, they would be able to be seen by all, but they are still Shinigami and have all their abilities.

Does that help at all? Or what kind of ghost are we talking about?

The ghost is a character named Reika Kuze from Fatal Frame 3. She's been dead and wandering in a dream/haunting a house for over a hundred years. She is imbued with certain powers and abilities due to her position as a tattoo priestess and her participation in a sacrificial ritual, and because she released the darkness of the spirit world (called the 'rift') on everyone in the mansion/shrine when the sacrifice went wrong. So she's a big bad in many respects, but she has been a ghost for some time. I'm thinking more like Shinigami, however.

In her case, then, she should retain whatever abilities she had as a ghost, but would be able to be physically seen, as the way we're going with it with all the different levels of reality and dimensions and whatnot are all compressed into one, everyone can have access to different planes of existence where they once couldn't :) Does that help?

Are we allowed to app more than one character per fandom?

Reply

adstrngndummod May 3 2008, 02:36:57 UTC
Yes! Just as long as the two charas apped aren't ones that would normally interact all the time. We're trying to avoid playercest is possible.
