i think the word for this is 'dark whimsy'. G's come the closest to mckean but I really like the way K stretches out and seems to reach for something. The hourglass in I's too dominant though, I think?
yup, agree about the hourglass, though there is something that appeals about how imposingly "there" it is. i liked it a a centerpiece to the whole time theme, and how the ripples go from the background to foreground.
of course, they could prolly all be better done in some way or another, but i don't really want to keep going back to rework it. ever giving it one final pass i still don't quite like C, D, E and H... and some others. but good enough for now ^^
mckean was the starting point (g being one of the first few letters i made) but then i found myself veering towards a cleaner sort of aesthetic. that's why you can see those little moments of geometric shapes and straight lines, etc. it's quite interesting for me to observe that because i feel like it represents where i come from as an art-person-thing.
