So, the 401 was backed up as far as the eye could see today because a beer truck overturned near the 400. I'm sure they could have it cleaned up in the blink of an eye if they pulled in the stuck commuters and told them they could keep whatever they salvage ( Read more... )

Re: Da Election. I'm actually hoping for a summer election so that disgruntled cottagers can send the Reform...er...Conservative party back past the trench of Saskatchawan.

Oh I know! I got goosebumps watching it!

Was that poster/map of Narnia that hung in your and Simone's place yours Al? Because I always coveted that... ;)

Yes, sending the Conservatives packing would be the only reason I'd be up for an election, but I am worried that won't happen and I'm just so pissed at the idea of spending more money on another election that I'm seriously looking at ways to boycott this election (if it happens) but still exercise my right to vote. We so need a 'none of the above' option...

Our government is such a freaking disaster right now and anytime I hear the words "Conservative", "Election", "Stephen Harper" and even "Alberta" now, I just fly into a rage.

I'm curious as to why those particular words send you into a rage when it's our current non-conservative government that is such a freaking disaster. And I must be missing something, but "Alberta" I don't get at all. Or is that a Stephen Harper/Alliance reference? The Conservatives definitely need a better leader if they ever plan to unseat those arrogant Liberals. If only Mike Harris had agreed to lead the federal party *sigh* Yeah, that's likely to win me popularity amongst my liberal friends :) Ah well, I think we are destined to get screwed over by whoever we elect to governement. At least until there's *some* sort of accountability in government.

The teaser trailer looks AWESOME.It does indeed, thanks for that. I've never read the books, and in fact for years thought the "Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe" had something to do with "Through the Looking ( ... )

Gah, I cannot believe I'm talking this much about politics... adrienne_j May 12 2005, 13:32:54 UTC
As to the why, yes, I know its our current government that's screwed up, but y'know, I could care less about this stupid Gomery inquiry. They misappropriated our money. Like who HASN'T at this point? Liberals? Yup. Conservatives? Yup. Should we give the NDP a crack at it, I'm sure they will too. I'm WAY more pissed at all the additional expense this stupid inquiry is sucking up. And yes, I hate Stephen Harper. He is such a reptile. Anyone who wants power that badly shouldn't have it. (I said the same thing about Paul Martin too). I don't want another election, that's another freaking waste of money ( ... )

Well, I just think whomever so blatently screws over the taxpayers, no matter what political bent they represent, needs to be slapped and told to sit in the corner while someone else has a turn running the country. Unfortunately illogical fear and distrust in Ontraio of the Reform-related Alliance will likely keep the Liberals in power, no matter how much they steal and misuse their power.

because all I can think is how much money would be WASTED by moving the entire government infrastructure out of Ottawa.

Ah, I hadn't heard that. I completely agree with you there. Shut-up Alberta.

Personally, I can't recommend the Chronicles enough, they are wonderful, wonderful books.I, sadly, have given up on books. All my reading time goes to comics (man, I really have to hit my shop, its been like, months) and gaming material. I don't have the time to dedicate to something long term ( ... )
