The more you caricature what you do not want to become, the more distant it seems.
Everybody knows they won't really end up with a day job, a house, a Volvo and 2.3 kids.
The problem is that when you caricature the unwanted future too much,
you make it too distant to really be afraid of. To avoid.
And when you do so, let go of the threat.
You get less and less vigilant.
You let go, just go with the flow.
The end result?
You end up with exactly what you did not want to end up with.
The kids and the day job.
Not to mention the black and white scientific crap.

Don't. You're too good to.

The more I confirm myself that I won't end up like that, the bigger the probability I'll end up like it anyway? Might be true. Maybe it's better not to think about your future that much, just go where life wants to take you. Sign the papers for the au pair year without thinking of all the problems and unpleasant situations that will occur during your time abroad, because the experience is still worth it.

Everything's worth everything. There are no bad experiences.
