I made the flight reservations through Orbitz. It seemed like a good idea at the time--dealing with the airlines directly, there's no way to ask about important conditions. Orbitz would answer me when I asked, "About that 42 minute connection through Detroit on the return trip, how often does that flight arrive in Detroit on time? You say it ( Read more... )

United Air has an automated calling system, too. It also has an interesting bug. When it warns me that Alan's incoming flight will be either earlier or later than expected, I appreciate it. What I don't appreciate is the way that any flight that comes in after midnight triggers a phone call the next morning at 6:30 to inform me that it did in fact arrive.
