For love of Bach

I'm glad to have gotten back into playing my guitar again. It's just been collecting dust for, uh, 10+ years, and then one day I just decided to pick it up again and start playing. Oh, it was out of tune. Really out of tune. But that didn't stop me.

Yeah, we saw the first episode of Piano no Mori, and decided not to collect the episodes. There are more series with 'miracle rookies', and most of them are just not that good. Or at least, they can't keep being interesting for very long.

The ghost of Mozart? That reminds me a bit of Hikaru no Go, where Hikaru finds a go board that is haunted by a ghost from the Heian-era that loves go. Only he can see it, and he becomes the 'conduit' through which the ghost can play go. But then he becomes interested in go himself, and he decides to study the game too. So there, it is through hard work and practice he becomes proficient. That's a lot more interesting that someone who never loses without putting any work in.

I liked the first episode, actually, but after a few more episodes it was clear that it was going on a very incredulous route. Apparently there was a film on it about 10 years ago which I didn't know about. I was just hoping the show would be deeper than what it seemed to be, but alas, it was not the case.

I actually have Hikaru no Go on my to-watch list (though it has something like 75 episodes so it'll be a while before I get round to it), but it does sound like something I would enjoy more.
