Any other time, I would’ve fought for what is mine

Missing scene from 'Sex and Violence'. Dean doesn't really try to fight the control of the siren... not like he would have fought it any other time before. Things have changed and the brothers are no longer the same people they were before. Betaed by the most awesome Jackfan2 and written for Saturday Pic Post at the SPN Writers Lounge, based on the ( Read more... )

Creepy but good. Which fits in with the episode very well! And if the two of them *had* been working together, as you say, this never would have happened...

Thank you! Creepy's my middle name ;o)

And yup, that's exactly what I think. If they'd worked as a team as they've done so often with success, the siren would've never been able to worm its way in between them.

Well, you are hell bent on breaking my heart. I know most people only saw the "big" fight in this episode, but what I saw was the loneliness, desperation and betrayal Dean felt; above all, I saw that he never expected any less but had hoped.. oh god had he hoped... And when I saw it the first time, it broke my heart; and now you have compounded the wound.

Glad you like it! Truly, for me, the actual fight was the minor offense in a episode filled with brotherly 'punches'.

OMG... This is wonderful! Creepy and heartbreaking, an insightful look into Dean's crushed psyche. Amazing work!

Dean had gotten isolated-alone. Yup that's it exactly. I felt for Dean in the episode. So alone, lied to, dismissed. And Sam not getting it, continuing to lie. So heartbreaking. Wonderful story.

You know, Sam complains a lot about being treated like the little brother and yet, when the time for him to step up and be the protector, he attacks instead... to me, that says a lot about his maturity.
Thank you!

So many times during the last season, I had the niggling desire to see Sam (and Dean) given a hug and then sent to his room with no supper. But perhaps that's just a knee-jerk silly reaction to all the Angst.

Anyway, this was great. I really enjoyed it. It was well written. It was very emotional without being....overwrought? It had that whole understated tragedy aspect, stark and hollow and aching. Poor flawed boys.

P.S. don't know if you'll care, and it didn't detract from it or anything, but I spotted a typo: aught for ought.
