'Changes', my sequel to 'Her Way' is finally up.  I'd never done a sequel before.  It was a real learning experience.  There seemed to be kind of only two ways to do it -- either break up our pair, which I couldn't bear to do, and get them back together again, or focus on other elements, which meant more action and less romance.  I decided to go ( Read more... )

You can say in an author's announcement that the story is finished and you'll be posting a chapter a day. I'm the type of reviewer that will read the whole story and review at the end, but if you post a chapter a day, I'll tend to review each chapter individually.

Thank you! That's good to know. I'm so new at this that I wasn't really sure what was right and didn't want to upset anyone. I'll do that on the next story.

Eh, if anyone gets upset, let me know and I'll sic spikeslovebite on them. This particular icon is in honor of her.

And another thing, that my hubby keeps telling me is to write the story for myself, not the reviewers. If that means more action and less romance, go for it. Romance is great, but action is pretty darned wonderful too.

Love the icon!
You're right. I do write the story for myself. It's only when I have to post it that I get second thoughts, wondering whether it's good enough.
Thank you! That was so helpful!

I didn't want to mentioned it again on SR - I can not answer there like here:
Just check now many people only comment on the last chapter. Watch this space :) 13 chapters at once. (It's just posted so there will be more reviews later.) And take something nearly daily posted and see it has more reviews. That doesn't mean that it is less read but just less reviewed. *just my thoughts*
*edit* ( = see? Only the last chapter. That doesn't mean that it is less loved.
If you feel better posting all in once, do it. It just means in my experience less reviews.) /*end edit*

I like the idea to mention that the story is finished and will be posted daily. Should convince the ones to read that don't read WIPs.

Thank you! I'm going to try that on my next story. I'm halfway done now, so it won't be much longer. Then we'll see how it goes!

*shrugs shoulders* You can always go back to posting all at once if you like :)

Exactly! :D I'll try it one chapter at a time and see what happens.
