I'm the team lead for a very small night crew for a medium-sized company. It's a good company to work for and, all things considered, one of the best night jobs you can have. *nodnod* Been there... as a night crew member for a "nationwide discount department store" I understand being treated like the red-headed step child of the company...

Solve all of these things, because if they're acting like morons there is very little that anyone can do about it.

But I CAN offer a surefire way to end the breakroom cleaning duties. Take a picture of the breakroom when the night crew starts. Take a picture of the breakroom when the night crew finishes.

Continue to do this for about 2-3 weeks.

Then, don't clean the break room any more. Note: Everyone in the night crew must be on board with this and agree to clean up ANY mess that they make to avoid making others have to clean it. Furthermore, if you have people that don't care on the Night Crew and want to make a mess anyway, then make them the defacto person cleaning the break room, not just their mess but the day crew's mess.

Nice entry. WAY too much crap happens to people when companies stop respecting their employees and lose their sense of egalitarianism.
