No, I'm not commenting on the RPS, not saying anything, but thinking really hard so maybe you get it via telepathy :D May the tee is Taken, Single, Temporary? Thanks for the great update!!! Happy hugs from Rena
I am the third in this telepathy excercise:) It seemed very strange to me that Brian didn't hate his father. Then I realized that he was waiting for love and understanding to the very last moment. And, of course, Gus's existance in Brian's life changed much. I also love scenes with the three-Brian, Justin and Gus. Being a child himself Justin is a great Dad for Gus. Thanks for sharing, darling!
Agreed. Brian is still waiting for his father to show some love. But don't you think that, if the abuse was as severe as some fics paint it, he'd have given up hope long ago? I'm not an abused child, so I don't know how the psyche might work. I'm wondering from a purely rational POV which is not adequate, I guess, when dealing with such a delicate issue.
I am not an abused child, too. Luckily:) I don't think Brian was abused that hard. Not physically at least. I cannot even say he wasn't loved. I mean, many fics say he used to run away from home and the stuff. But we see that he still keep in touch with his family (regularly, even with his father). His sister leaves her children with him. He visits his mother. It's not typical for a person abused severely. But he didn't feel comfortable in his own family. He could never come out as nobody would understand and accept it. Another problem is that his parents were not happy in the marriage. This always has a great influence on children, no matter gay or straight.
Some people act always the same, no matter who their acting partners are. But Gale is really different when he acts with his parents as when compared to his acting with people who are playing his friends. And it makes him a great actor in my eyes. But we all already knew that. :)
Thank you for this comment. I'm very glad you enjoyed the update.
You are right, the interaction between Jack and Brian is such a special one, and Brian looking at the old pic in the end, it shows Brian the kid who wishes for the love of the parents like all kids too, age doesn't matter
( ... )
I LOVE the scene at the diner. Brian is so... cozy... here. Allowing himself this tiny bit of soft and gentle caress. In front of all the others too! Don't want to think about the bashing here, but it is sooo true. After the bashing, Brian is always guarded, careful what he says and how he acts. He's never been this open with Justin after the bashing. So sad, but so understandable. (I have a very short scene in ASGC which reflects upon how the bashing changed Brian's thinking and acting.)
Thanks for pointing out that the video won't play here. You're right. But it does link to the same video on YT, I think. And yes, it's the one you already know.
As for Mel, I guess she's scared that Brian might actually be interested in the son and want to have a relationship with him which would probably threaten her relationship with Lindsay in her eyes. It's petty.
I love Stuart's coming out scene. Very powerful. Loved it when I saw it the first time:) But then, Stuart's relationship with his parents isn't as fucked up as Brian's is. Not by a long shot.
I love Stuart! The scene was amazing; it always gives me the shivers. True, his relationship with his parents is different from Brian's but nevertheless, I hoped the writers would make Brian's coming out scene somehow more... phenomenal... you know? More of a WHAM! kind of moment. I was a little bit disappointed. But the way Joan found out was so much more satisfying. ;)

I loved this episode; Brian with his little whip; telling Justin he'd tie his balls up tight ... fun!
