One worker said it sounded like thunder when falling rock and mud crashed into the Pike County Animal Shelter. No animals were hurt, but about one hundred pets are without a home.

I'd gotten some emails about it yesterday, but couldn't verify it until thism AM. I only had a few dollars to donate, but I figure that anything helps in cases like these.

Those shelters are everywhere. It's the same here in GA, happened in TX and in CA too. There are just too many animals and people keep letting them breed. I get multiple emails every day (I vounteer for a no-kill shelter) with "This kitty and her 3 day old kittens will be KILLED on Wednesday! Please save her and her babies!" as the subject line. There's only so much we can do. *sad*
