One of the first accident victims was a sheriff's deputy, Judd said. The deputy told Judd that conditions on the road worsened suddenly. "'It was clear, it was a little foggy, then it was total darkness,"' Judd recounted the deputy saying.

Yeah I think the truckers got the worst of that. They're the majority of the people on the road at that time and all the fires that I can tell were rigs.

She's fine! Her husband was considerably worried. She didn't have her cell phone so there was a few hours of non communication. Everything is fine though. She missed it by about an hour.

That's awful... it's one thing that I can't handle and that's being helpless. I think a situation like that would wound me more than helping someone and then them passing later. People are a dangerous lot.

Yeah.... I very much look up to emergency personnel. It takes a strong person mentally to be able to do that job. I practically grew up in the firehouse (my mother worked in one until I was 6 and my stepdad was a fire chief. It's an interestingly lifestyle but very rewarding.
