moon_very_thin: May I kiss you?
You have just put in words what bothers me about MM/AD too - and I'm so at your side in hunting the people down who can't do with the age gap and therefore dabble around with it!

And because we're just at it: I have one point more I can't stand. If I'm going to read another story where Dumbledore gets a 17 year old Minerva pregnant, I'm really going to struggle the author! And if it's even one who makes Minerva then raising her child alone (because his 155 1/2 letters don't reach her; because she saw him once with another woman and thinks - sobb-sobb - that he doesn't love her or whatever else absolutely silly reasons the fanbrat writing this made up), then I'm going to scream!

Y'know, you have more venom in you than I would have thought ;)
That shows that you don't know me well. ;-)))

I've just read once again one of "these fics". I spent the entire day with tax stuff, so I didn't feel up to any writing of my own (neither creative nor the article I actually should have written) and so I went to the Pit of Voles (aka FF.net) where I came along a fic with Minerva and Albus having twins, but she ran away with one of them because he neglected her. And then, years later, the girls met and yadda-yadda-yadda.
Except of the fact that this plot was already done (and much more better) by the German author Erich Kaestner (and his book is a very famous German children's book and was at least twice made into a movie, so I guess the author knows it) I simply couldn't stop reading. I was so fascinating with the stupidness of it and how much was wrong at the story.

It must be lack of better reading material ... and you know that even was the reason why I started to write fan fiction myself.

Hi girls,
Those are indeed words well spoken. And I judge fanfics I read also by those standards, but presuming that those rules also define what is good and what is bad is a little presumptious, don't you think?
Those are your (and my) standards, but that doesn't mean that the other stories just have to go down the drain. Just avoid them if you encounter them.
I for one don't judge the other stories as bad because sometimes they are written very well, even though the contents of what is written doesn't stroke with these rules.

I'm sorry if I misinterpreted your words, I just think that taking your rules as a standard is maybe a little bit too high. I can imagine that not all fanfiction writers are as mature as the next, certainly as it's harry potter that was intentionally a children's book.

thanks, bye!

Kiss me, you fool! Just kiss me. :D That was brilliant and amazing. Ditto times one hundred bazillion eleventy one to Numbers 1, 3, and 9.

And, um, I have a question. I'm probably a younger adult than you had in mind when creating this beautiful, beautiful place, but I wanted to clap and cheer and have a party when I read the userinfo. Because I am so behind you guys. My melodrama, let me show you it.

So, I was wondering if I could join anyway? I wouldn't post any fic; I'd really hate to pollute this community's beautiful purity *snuggles* since I am an aspiring hack writer. I really sort of lose at words.

I just want to rant and headdeask with you guys, because I completely agree with the premises this community was founded upon. The cliche, it burns me.

Or, you can just kick me, tell me to kindly GTFO, and slay me with your snarks. This is also a good option.
