Akutaq (agooduk) is "Eskimo ice cream", and I've had it, and know, at least theoretically, how to make it. The versions I've had included smoked salmon along with the Crisco, sugar and berries, though, so it's not really your kind of thing.

Truth to tell I have difficulty thinking of the Appalachians as real mountains, but that's because I grew up within sight of Mount Rainier.
