Saw Kiss Kiss Bang Bang at the on-campus theater last night. OH RDJ. <333333 What do I have to do to be in the Avengers movie? Seriously, dude. Besides the obvious steps of, uh, building up an acting career in Hollywood. *rueful

Being in the School of Drama can be reeeeeeally bad for one's self-image with all the ridiculously svelte actresses and dancers running around. Is the thing. >.> Yeah.
I feel obliged to say something, though, about how annoying I find it that in so many movies/TV shows, the inamorato is considerably older than the inamorata.
I know. It drives me crazy! I mean, sure, any one relationship, I have no objections to. It happens, and that's totally fine. (Especially when it's something the characters actually think about as much as is IC and relevant, which of course they hardly ever do.) But as a trend, it drives me bonkers. Why can the man be any age short of visibly elderly and still be considered hot and a valid romantic prospect, but the woman has to be under 35 and completely wrinkle-free?
On a much more cheerful topic, though: GO YOU on the self-image thing! Seriously. That is completely awesome. :D
And then it gets really crazily egregious when, say, Robert Downey Jr. is supposed to be the same age as the love interest played by an actress ten years younger than him. I just. Hold on a damn second!
The only reason I don't complain more is that it considerably ups my chances of ever playing a love interest opposite, say, Robert Downey Jr., despite the twenty year age gap. *cough*
