*sigh* Oh boy. My knee's been bothering me, so I e-mailed Dad (who's an MD) with a description of how it feels, and he wrote back with

I learned that if you cut down on white sugar (which is an inflammatory) it will help your joints. When my blood sugar is low, I can definitely feel it in the joints.

Bummer! You could commiserate with Ben, who just had his ACL reconstruction surgery today. (He'll probably point out that it could be worse, you could be six-foot-five. ::grin::)
