How on earth does an actor make it to twenty years old without ever having learned to stage fall

For all the stage shows I've been in, the only reason I know how to fall correctly is because I took a summer course where it was taught to us. I've only once had to actually do it in a performance -- and I only did it because the entire scene was blocked by me and I felt like it. ^_
