Adira had been standing on the seamstresses block for hours. There is not much to do but think at a moments like this she muses as she looks down at the two women frantically working on her dress. She smiles. It is unfair that I have given them only three days to make it but If Londo is coming....
Her thoughts stop "I had not thought it possible that he would come and yet, he treated it as if there could be no other answer." She frowns. I have unfairly judged him and no doubt partially on Kailin's suspicions. My brother does not trust the Ambassador nor does he believe Londo cares for me. A grin creeps into her expression. I will have the laugh this time. Unlike my brother my doubts always centered on his sense of duty not his emotions. It is true, My dear Ambassador has an unfaltering desire to serve our people. That was the fear that he would chose to neglect me, instead of leaving his duty to our people for a few days. Such an action would have hurt me but it would not have been unexpected and it would have in the end only added to my love.
This was not the case. She thought about
thier conversation and guilt grew in her mind. I should never have doubted him.
The guilt is soon replaced by worry. He risks his reputation by coming here. I am nowhere near the rank... Adira sighs.. It is his choice. Inviting him may cause his status to suffer slightly, not inviting him and he would suffer. He has the means to repair his status, but his hearts... No, inviting him was the right thing to do.
I wonder what he will be wearing when I see him. Her thoughts wander and her smile grows as she thinks about his arrival in a few days. The daydream is cut short by a sound. She doesn't recognize it at first but as her mind returns to reality she recognizes the voice of her most loyal guard. She looks at him and doesn't speak her mind still half within the daydream and unwilling to let it go.
"A letter My Lady". He hands Adira a small envalope. She nods and he leaves whistling.
Adira Looks at the letter. Londo, why would you send something right before leaving? but as she pulls the card out her eyes go wide. On the simple card is a golden Vorchan swooping. Her mind instantly returns to
her conversation with
_mariel. The simple "Thank You" within is unreadable. Adira wonders if Mariel knows Londo is coming to Davo. Worry again enters her expression. Londo had warned her on multiple occassions about his wife. "She wouldn't dare!" Adira's worry fades. She had told Mariel, be it cryptically of her intentions. Mariel wouldn't dare prevent Londo from coming. Besides why would she then he would have to stay with her and if there is anything to ensure she doesn't interfer, nothing could be more efficient then the consequence of forcing Mariel to spending time with Londo. Adira laughs as she steps down to look at her finished dress.
