La Nacion and Spanish

Today while waiting for take out sushi, I read a column in La Nacion, the local "serious" newspaper, on organ donation, particularly the need to protect live donors. Hey, cool! And watching foreign-language stuff with the foreign-language subtitles on is a great way to learn.

The subtitles make it far easier to tell where words begin and end. One of the things I like about Duolingo is that it has audio as well as print and "type what you hear" questions, so I'm forced to listen and learn how to pick apart what I've heard. But damn it's difficult sometimes! Fortunately the woman on the recording is way more patient than any live person would be--she'll say it over and over and over again while I try to figure it out.
