So far the apartment is great. Our landlady is cool enough with the cat that she loaned us a second litter box and a food bowl for her--she lives in the same apartment building and has cats of her own. One of the reviews we read said that her cats were frequent (and welcome) visitors, so we may have to engage in some feline diplomacy regarding mine and thine.
My sleep last night was a little disturbed by the usual "Okay, what is that?" of sleeping in a new place. But generally it's pretty quiet around here. We're about five blocks from San Jose's equivalent of Central Park, Parque La Sabana (Park of the Savannah, AKA the original airport in the Twenties!). The park is one of the few truly flat areas of San Jose, but when they turned it into a park they dug an artificial lake and used the dirt to build a huge play hill.
