Stage 3: Paint. I used a Krylon black spray paint made for plastic, so there shouldn't be any tackiness when all is said and done. I'm still going to add some detailing to it, but I can't wait any longer to get the wiring done.

I went to skycraft and got more necessary junk for the arcade controller. Bought a cheap (very cheap) soldering iron since the one I have is intended for stained glass, not electronics. I bought 18 gauge wire for all the microswitch grounds and 22 gauge for the actual hookup to the control board. I bought a four dollar pair of wire strippers. They ( Read more... )

I'm fixing to build my own arcade controller set. I'm currently working on the box that will house it all. Later, I'll be installing these guys, and wiring it up. It's an ambitious job for me, since I've never wired anything up before. This will actually require soldering and such.

I  just used boiling water to kill maggots in our outdoor garbage can. What fun.

It's a good thing I didn't find them indoors. I might have died, then and there.

I designed and drew a raygun today. I started playing with Autodesk Sketchbook Pro, which I've never used before. I've been seeing all the speed sketches on Youtube, using Sketchbook and I wanted to try it. I couldn't hack it.
