I had the good fortune to attend a charming civil partnership ceremony on Saturday. The invitation came as an encrypted teletype message, for the ceremony was to take place in Bletchley Park. Fortunately the details were repeated in clear.

That sounds like quite a ceremony: can you reproduce the encrypted text?

I don't know that I ought, because it would (at least with inordinate persistence) reveal the grooms' names! There were five by five blocks of five letters, enciphered on an Enigma machine with appropriate settings of dates and initials. We were given the key to decipher the message on the day, but as I say, unencrypted instructions had also been provided, otherwise the ceremony might not have been so well attended...

(Purists will note that there is no preamble, so the indicator settings are missing. I don't know if I missed anything else off, or whether the message is long enough to be subjected usefully to other forms of attack.)

I'm glad you enjoyed the day. Though I agree it has somewhat mixed messages, Misalliance is one of my favourites. And thank you for the A&M link; I hadn't been aware of those!
