So, I don't follow his canon at all so I don't know if it's finished or nowhere near done, but given how DDD has a way of messing up canon timelines, what do you see happening with Ciel and his deal with Sebastian? Or do you intend to play it by ear as canon progresses?
The manga is still ongoing right now, and we have nooooo idea what it's leading up to or how long it's going to go for. It depends entirely on the ending as to whether DDD will mess with canon; we already plan to have it mess up just a little part, but that doesn't affect Ciel and Sebastian at all, and it's just saving our shiny new Joker, haha. Most of it right now will probably just be playing it by ear.
There are pretty much three paths for Ciel's ending - the Good End (he gets revenge and dies peacefully, Sebastian eats his soul), the Normal End (he and Sebastian are still bound together, Ciel is still after revenge for an unknown amount of time, life goes on), and the anime-introduced Bad End (Ciel becomes a demon and is stuck with Sebastian for all of eternity). SO WE SHALL SEE WHAT PATH THE MANGA TAKES, and from there we can decide which route we want to stick with.
Well, he hasn't really asked him out; he's just sort of... laying everything out on the table, as he put it, so that they're not constantly dancing around this issue that's obviously there. But oh, the catalysts... so many catalysts, I don't even know where to start
