ohgodyes it really is, especially when you're as excitable as I was! I kept looking out the window thinking "are we there yet?! are we there yet?!"

This is really weird. At the top of the page xugglybug ([info]xugglybug) wrote in [info]adayinmylife,
is in completely backwards text for me -- it's all inverted. 0___o

Anyway though, yay for your trip!!

*grins* everytime I post anywhere someone mentions this! It's because I have a Unicode character in my LiveJournal name thing on my profile that force-reverses text.

Heh, well, I flumped and fell asleep almost immediately we got in the car I think, I was just way too excited to sleep until I arrived!

I'm used to LDRs but not so much the long distance involved in living on another continent to someone (morelike about 150 miles at most, so it's easy enough to hop on a train and see people... I can't exactly do that in this situation! So it can be really hard sometimes.)

Awesome journey. It's pretty cool the immigration guy knew what LJ was and on top of that who your friend was. Are you going to document your trip back?

I think he was an LJ user himself and I think a lot of people who use LJ know of marnanel, because of Joule. (I don't know exact numbers of people who use LJ and people who use Joule and how they match up, though.)

I don't think I'll document the trip back, it'll be way too sad.

There are about 17 million LJ accounts ever (since 1998), and 388,072 Joule accounts ever (since 2002). About a million LJ accounts are active, and for Joule there are about 1200 people who check the site every day using HTML (it varies by the day of the week and the busiest day is Monday) and maybe four or five times that number who read it over RSS. So there are maybe 7000 active Joule users, so about 1% of LJ uses Joule, but I think it's possibly a rather well-connected 1%.
