A Regular Friday
Hi. I'm Jullienne, a magazine editor from Manila, Philippines. This chronicles a busy but pretty typical Friday at work.

Woke up early, noticed that my alarm clock was late again. Bid the Anti-Ninja, French Dunny, and Baby Treeson a good morning. I haven't found a place for my new toys yet.

Spent a few more minutes in bed. Just couldn't get up. I think this is my worst waking up pic ever in my ADIML history.

Coco Pops for breakfast.

Shower time.

Preparing for work. My room is a mess. I have to work on that soon.

It always takes me a while to decide on what to wear.

Left the house late. I'm so slow in the mornings. I was glad it was sunny. I'm not ready to let go of summer yet. Sadly, the rainy season is right around the corner.

In the shuttle, on the Skyway. I slept for most of the ride. That's the city where I work in the distance. I worried that it looked cloudy, but the clouds went away later on in the day.

Finally reached the office. Here's my cube. You can see the latest issue of the magazine I work for on top of my drawer - PC World.

Instant messages popped up - got a random one from my Lj friend Marcus, and another from my cousin Camille who recently moved to Vietnam.

Fired up Thunderbird and checked my work e-mail. I spent a few minutes just clearing out the spam. Got some press releases, event invitations, meeting reminders, and e-mails from the big boss. This is usually the time of the day when I start to feel the stress coming on.

Got an instant message from my best friend Hazel. I don't usually get this many IMs when I'm at work, it was weird.

Had a short meeting with my writers Billy and Luis in the conference room. We just did a status update since deadline week was coming up. Oh, and before this we tested out a new Internet broadband prepaid kit we have for review.

Back in the cube. Chatted a bit with Verns, a writer for another magazine, over at the next cube.

Lunch time. I snapped a quick pic in the office restroom before heading out.

I was meeting my former editor Mia and former Test Lab director Malou for lunch several blocks away. It was hot out, but I decided to walk since getting a cab would be a hassle.

Took a pic on the walkway. My destination was that building in the middle, the one with the blue sign.

Yellow Cab four seasons pizza and spicy chicken wings! I almost forgot to take pictures of the food because we started talking as soon as we saw each other. The roasted garlic and shrimp slices were gone by this time.

Walking back to the office. I took a different route this time.

Out of the office, finally. I headed to Greenbelt to meet up with Michael (my ex).

It turned out that his boss called him in for a meeting as he was leaving his office, so he was late. Luckily, our meet-up place was at the bookstore, so I whiled away the time browsing through books. I checked out the Murakamis, but they didn't have Norwegian Wood, which was what I wanted to get.

I bought Little Women instead. I had this book when I was a kid, but I lost it a long time ago.

When Michael arrived we proceeded to the CD shop so he could buy blank discs, since he asked me to burn some stuff for him. Then we walked to the next mall, Glorietta.

We ended up in Starbucks. We just caught up on each other's lives - we do this once in a while. I sneaked a picture using my camphone when he wasn't looking because he hates having his picture taken.

After saying goodbye to the ex-boyfriend, I met up with my friend Jason. We hopped into a cab immediately to go to High Street. He's a producer/reporter for a TV show on Studio 23, and we found out that we were both attending the same press event that night.

We've arrived.

Whoa, we were surprised to find lots of people there. There were lots of celebrities too, but I don't really get starstruck so I didn't take pictures of them. It was the official launch party of the HP Mini-Note.

There it is. It's the best-looking sub-notebook I've seen by far, with pretty good specs to boot.

Met up with my officemates - Lanie (advertising executive), Deb (marketing director), Melba (editor), and Verns (writer).

Jason won a Mini-Note! I hate the lucky bastard, haha. The other Jason, a writer for another magazine, was really disappointed when his surname wasn't called out.

Barista: Cute wallet! Me: I got it at Human. Barista: Only recently? Me: Yeah around a month ago, and they have a copper version too. Barista: Really? Cool. Thanks!

My boyfriend Aleq arrived with his cousin Bien and told us that they had a small accident in the parking lot, which is why they took so long to arrive. The guy who bumped into his car was nice though, so there wasn't any trouble at all.

Then we headed to the parking lot to inspect the damage.
