Leaving on a jet plane

Jan 30, 2008 20:01

Adam woke Jimmy up an hour and a half later, nuzzling and kissing him until the older man turned over and finally submitted to the idea of being conscious.  In the middle of the night, they laid together in the big bed talking until Jimmy reminded Adam of his promise to play.  After much prodding and pouting looks Adam got out of bed and made his way to the piano.  He shivered a bit in the chill of the room, a much different temperature from under the covers.  After a moment of thought he started to play a classical piece, some sonata he had learned years ago, but still remembered.

While he played he mentally packed and got ready for the plane ride down to Argentina, figuring out what time he would have to get up in order to get to the airport on time and how long it would take for him to get down there.  Anything besides the thought that he would have to leave New York and the man who was laying in his bed.  He was aroused from his thoughts by kisses over his shoulders, lips touching the ink that stained his skin.  Jimmy pulled him away from his thoughts and his music, luring him back into bed.

Their coupling was less rushed and frantic then the last time, each man taking his time teasing the other.  Adam hated these moments sometimes they made leaving worse, harder.  They made his feelings for the other man grown, and the time they spent apart were filled with memories of gentle kisses and touches.  When Jimmy simply took what he wanted, hard and cruel, Adam almost hated him, even as much as he loved the rough act.  It was easy to forget the bites and the scratches, and the ache when he sat down only reminded him of the sex the night before.

Neither man said much the next morning.  Jimmy wished the blond a safe trip and to email him when he could, and Adam promised that he would stay in touch and be back soon.  Both men parted ways quickly, like ripping off a band aid.  Jimmy had to get home to his wife, who Adam was growing to resent and Adam himself had to get ready for his trip.

Adam kept his word for the first few days he was down in South America; the emails were short but said that he was fine and that the sun and people were beautiful.  He told Jimmy that he missed him, and that one day the older man should come down to this part of the world and have a good time.

After that the emails started to become less and less frequent, he was deeper in the country where it was hard to truly maintain contact with the outside world.  Work was becoming frustrating and Adam spent most of his time arguing with the locals and drinking in his hotel room, the frustration was only expounded upon by his longing for the other man.  He felt irritable, unable to concentrate when he couldn’t have direct contact with his lover.

When he found that he would have to stay down there for another three days, making the grand total of weeks away from Jimmy three and a half Adam thought he would go mad.  Finally he managed to find a store in town that shipped to the United States and sent the older man a gift basket of his companies coffee and exotic chocolates flavored with local herbs and spices.  Attached was a card that read simply: Thinking of you, hope to be back home soon.  He didn’t bother signing it; Jimmy would know who it was from.

With any luck he would be able to back up those words with a return flight home.
