That's a really neat idea, Sam having physical, highly visible damage to go with the psychological. The different reactions from regular folk, hunters, Dean, the angels, Ruby... the way it made him more resistant to Ruby's offer of the blood, all pretty damned cool and really believable. I liked this a lot!

I'm glad you enjoyed it! I had a lot of fun playing with how other people's reactions to Sam changed his view of himself, made him more stubborn in some places and more passive in other.

Oh man this is SO COOL. Seriously, I love this, and the way the scars changed Sam, because of how they changed the way the world looked at Sam. And that the angels were the only ones who ever looked past the scars at first. And the parallels between Sam and Anna. And I just hope there's more in this vein, I guess, because its AWESOME.

I will admit, ever since writing this I've been thinking that I should do more with Sam and Anael hanging out. Because because because you have Dean-the-stubborn with Cas-the-mostly-good-soldier, and then you have Sam-who-wants-to-be-good with Anael-who-plays-by-her-own-rules and there are contrasts and parallels (and Sam could totally joke "I get to sleep with Cas, right? Since you slept with my angel?" and Dean would splutter).

And Anna understands pop culture references so her and Sam can gang up on Dean and Cas is in the corner going "I don't understand" and eventually Dean and Sam take pity and try to teach him and Anna shakes her head when it mostly fails!

What a gorgeous, gorgeous story. I almost wish it could go on forever. Your writing is lovely and the premise is so interesting. Thank you for sharing!
