I think they had me because they thought a baby would go well with the furniture. See, while I know that it's funny, reading that just brings this lump to my throat and makes me want to hug him *wibble*
Miss Pillsbury smiled at Mr Schue, teasing. “And being a Spanish teacher you’d know all about food hygiene,” she said. The conversation between Will and Emma is so smooth, like a scene right out of the show :3
Mr Schue worked in a bakery when he was in high school. Mr Schue was in the same year as Liam. Mr Schue had been into grunge. Finn wondered if maybe Mr Schue and Liam had been best friends or something. And then he stared at Mr Schue, at the easy way he talked with Miss Pillsbury, and thought about the way Mr Schue had been there for him earlier in the year. Finn began wondering something else entirely, and wondered if he was crazy. Wait, so he's only getting it now? Wow, Finn how slow! Haha.
Tina looked a little hurt, though Finn had no idea why. “Well, sometimes people misrepresent themselves because it’s easier. They don’t ( ... )

Maybe it's because both my parents work in schools, but I've never understood this logic and I come across it so often.
I'm losing it as I age, and a lot of my uni friends did teaching degrees so I'm seeing teachers from the personal angle first. But I can remember being at school and sometimes a teacher would stop being a teacher and step from that distant, authoritative role and into a more personal, supportive one. Like when my dad died and my music teacher came to the funeral and hugged me. I was incredibly grateful that she did, but for a moment we stopped being a teacher and a student (which, you know, Will and Finn do all the freaking time in season one).

I like Tina. There's a cast of characters I feel we don't see enough in Winn fics, and she's definitely on that list.

Wow, Finn how slow! I love Finn, but yes, not always the brightest crayon :)

I get that there's a difference in the nature of the relationship because the teacher/student dynamic must maintain certain boundaries, but I see stuff like "I thought teachers were robots" or "Our teachers all live in the school" and if it's at infant or junior school level I can understand, but they'd have to be a Brittany at secondary school level for me to not want to smack them upside the head for being stupid.

I like Tina too, I'm actually slightly saddened by how little attention she gets on the actual show, let alone in fic.
