Life Update -- vacation, Firan, gaming, Opie

I haven't posted anything in a while, let alone a life update. Here's what's going on in the world of Adam.

VacationI took two weeks of vacation over the holidays. I like to take two weeks in a row. It takes me a week to really unwind, then I get a week to relax. It's my annual "reboot." I didn't go anywhere or do anything huge. I relaxed. It was

*hugs* for you & Steph, purrs for Opie. Renal failure is a not fun way to go, I went through that with Konnick, aka Chicken, in 1999. It sounds like you have a fantastic vet. If you need an ear, I'm always willing to listen.

It was really wonderful visiting, and I had a great time GMing with you, too.

I'm keeping Opie in my prayers, and I know he's getting special attention and love from you two all the time. I'm glad the fluids are going better now, too.

I took a number of pictures of Opie at the cookie party (this is only one out of at least four). If you want, I will put them on disk or somethign for you...

As for Opie, something you may want to try for the pills is something called Pill Pockets (http://pillpockets.com/index_fs.htm). We used these with Onyx when we had to give him pills. They worked really well for a while, and then he started learning that they were in there, and would eat the pocket and spit out the pill. But it may be worth giving them a shot, so that you don't have to cut up his treats.
