Yawning, wearing nothing more than that oversized black robe, Emma padded out of the bathroom. Bleary eyed from sleep, her hair up in a towel as she silently slipped over and wrapped her arms about Adam's waist, resting her cheek against his back.

Figuring the call was business. Willing to be silent and let him do what he must... but it didn't stop her from needing to be near him.

A smile instantly appeared on his lips at that touch, so light at first then a casual firmness to it. Her hands slid about his waist tucking to the front. He let go of the spoon in his hand, letting it clatter to the spoon rest. Turning, tucking his arms to her own waist. Thumbs rubbed gently on her hips, awarding her a sweet smirk as he continued to talk.

"I was thinkin' maybe stayin' an' helpin' out there fer the weekend. Well, from what I can guess she's never seen a cow, so it might be good t' introduce her t' one b'fore I show her the estate."

Smirking a bit wider, eyes down to hers before planting a sweet kiss on her lips. He mouthed her a question along the lines of how her ankle was, letting one ear listen to the elderly woman on the phone, and the other for Emma's pleasant voice.

Cow? What did cows have to do with business? Maybe...

And with those thoughts, Emma's face fell. Oh god. It was that phone call. And that talk. The one she would never have on her end of things. The... it's time to meet the parents talk. Or in this case, she could take a guess.

His grandmother.

Staring up at him, eyes wide as silver dollars even as she mouthed back the word fine. And it was. In that moment. As she was suddenly numb. Panicked. He... he wanted her to meet his family. And she...

She was Emma Frost. The last person anyone wanted their son bringing home.

His smile widened at that fear. So cute. Like a deer in headlights. Kissing the top of her head Adam turned back to the stove, finishing his meal for two. The sause was nigh perfect, oregano and parsley flakes spotting the white. The noodles where almost done on the boil, and the chicken was a delicate white.

"No, no. I insist on helpin' if'n we stay there, Nana. And don't you worry about Emma. She may be a bit reclusive. City type. Like Momma was. Alright... I'll have a talkin' with her over it. I'll call you sometime tomorrow, Nana. Alright. I love you, too. Be good, now. Alright, bye."

A hand rose, clicking the cell phone off before stuffing in into his back pocket. Eyes stayed to the pan of sauce, spoon gently stirring.

"Wakey, wakey. Sleep well?"
