Yeah, it saddens me greatly as well. I read a lot of gaming forums, and I've seen threads on almost all of them about this... "Vote for Chuck Norris/David Hasselhoff!"

I kinda think it's hilarious. We know "silly" names will not be used, so there's no danger there. Also, I understand the sense of violation many Hungarians must be feeling at having foreigners intrude on this vote.

However, the makers of the poll really didn't do a very good job with it and that is what makes it funny. "Oops, we didn't think a bunch of people around the world would be silly and disrespectful on the internet!"

First rule of the 'net: assume everyone you don't know is a jerk.

Also, the "asshole" comment was just wrong. There was no point to it.

I agree with that, but I also think that pointing out a problem and abusing it is two different things.

Clearly there wasn't. I just don't understand why these people don't think such things over. I mean, if we would be going around saying that George Washington was an asshole and Abraham Lincoln was an asshole, or that they were gay, I doubt that Americans would all be saying "Oh, we greatly respect your decision to make fun of our great historical persons."

I don't think we should have to worry, there will be other nominees recommended by a committee of experts besides the netnominees, what means that even if only that man would be on the net, must not have been chosen as final winner.
