Writer's Block: You, the Movie

Jul 15, 2008 15:15

The movie of my life would be a dramedy, with more comedy than drama. It will highlight my little screwups and my slightly complicated mother and brother, and my Filipino culture which I (sometimes) have to put aside to play with the big boys of Corporate America.

The person who would play me would have to be Asian, Pacific Islander.  I have no ( Read more... )

Yeah, I totally can't even answer this sort of question because there's such a general lack of Asian-American actors that aren't either stunt people or the like. Also makes the reverse true....who the hell do you dress up as for Halloween besides stock characters like witches or devils?

You could totally get Vanessa Hudgens from High School Musical to play you! She's like, 1/5th Filipino...

heeheee. The girl that does HappySlip should play you. She's hilarious. I have a link to her site on my page as well, 'YouChoob' and 'Morning Meest' are some of the best. Forewarning, the site is WOW yellow. :D

speaking about Filipino culture, my parents have organized my 21st at a Filipino Restaurant. And why the Entertainment of Karaoke will be AWESOME lolz I clearly have no idea what the food will be like.

Now my question is...

Will I be able to eat the foods? I mean is it hot and stuff?

It might be the dumbest question you have but who better to ask huh XD!

LOL! It's not dumb at all--don't worry. Just like any other culture, we have hot foods. It's different from American-spicy. We often use those tiny red chili peppers to spice up our food, and that could be really hot.

However, I noticed with the Filipino restaurants here in America, they usually only serve one hot dish, which is called Bicol Express. It's a dish served where the main ingredient is sliced chili pepper. The presence of the pork in it is merely to flavor it. Haha. But that's about it. Everything else is tasty, but mild, and heart clogging fare. You might want to hold on the fish sauce, though. We love fish sauce, but I can understand how anyone who's not Filipino or Vietnamese can't stand it--it actually really stinks. Lol.

Oh WOW thanks a bunch for this!

Yeah my parents decided they wanted to do something completely different. And they went to a wedding held at the same restaurant and they couldn't stop going on and on about it. And seeing as I didn't want to have it at a chinese *which was where I had my 18th* or italian which is like dead common for us to go we are gonna shock a few people in saying we are going Filipino for the night lolzzzz

I mean we be anglo indian and all we should be able to handle the heat. But oh God you just mentioned heart clogging...great there goes my diet! LMAO!

and I will definitely keep away from the fish sauce.

OH BTW I suggest you come to SCQ and read the inside Goss we have on HBP thanks to Heather *Gaelicbleu* ;) you will pretty much die of laughter from what she has said XD!

Hey, a fellow H/Hr shipper who's also Pinoy *grins*

Mind if I friend you?

Oh and if Vanessa Hudgens isn't available, there's always Tia Carrere. Lol.
