The tone of this was just perfect (especially for the PTSD I carry after Laura's death), and you almost ... allllllmost ... made me like flamingos again ;)

I loved the mix the serious and sad, with the humorous and practical. One of my favourite examples:

Where was her ferry ticket? Her cosmic barbecue? Her mother and father, her sisters and friends and uncles and aunts? Perhaps it was only a myth. A dream.

Or perhaps something was holding her back.

I was also really touched by Laura's acceptance of their rather macabre wedding, and this especially:

Can you switch it?”

She moved it experimentally. “Yes. But... I don’t want to.” Her fingers curled to keep the too-large band in place. “Call me sentimental.”There's something so beautiful in Laura wanting to keep the ring where Bill put it. It reminded me of my mom. My dad broke his wrist playing soccer quite a while after they were married. He'd had to take his ring off because of the swelling and my mom said that she'd been sad about it, because he hadn't moved it since she'd ( ... )

I really loved this. :D I am such a sucker for post-DB fics, I love reading writers' interpretations of their reunion in the afterlife. This one was sweet, humorous, angsty, and yet so very much them. Wonderful work. :D

I'm another one who loves this type of post-Daybreak afterlife fic. This was so sweet and funny (LOL @ Bill's one track mind). I loved this exchange:

“I’m not that much of a gentleman.”

“I know.”

Hee!

Also, "Let’s say... the setting is always different, but the story is the same." <--- clever, clever. :)
