Back in April of 2008, we had just seen the premier of S4 (after much squeeing over the promo pics!!). stop_theworld made a post encouraging A/R fans to make a 'wish list' of what they wanted to see happen in S4, ship-wise. Awww! What an awesome list! :D It's so cool going back and reading first reactions to all you AR shippers way back when! :D :P

My wishes in 2008 would have been:

1) SEX. They must have sex. I want a love scene that is poignant and beautiful and emotionally satisfying. Not like the million random frak scenes we get with the pilots and Baltar's never ending trysts.

2) A verbal declaration of love from BOTH of them.

3) Lee and Laura making nice because she's Daddy's GF now. :P

4) I want to see Bill kiss the top of her bare head. (We would have known about her cancer and it's only a matter of time before she loses her hair :( )

5) I want a scene where they discuss living together or a "moving in" scene.

I *STILL* want all of these things btw .... :( *pouts*

It was so much fun to find this post. I vaguely remember it, and I remember everything feeling like it was moving so slowly at the time (probably because of all the hiatuses). A lot of us were sure the sex had happened on NC, and some would have been satisfied with a 'morning after' type scene that would have confirmed it in S4 (which would have been lovely, and in the end is basically what we got). Like you, I wanted to see it, as I think it would have been beautiful, but at the time, it felt like any kind of affection, of recognition of how they felt, would have been good enough. I can hardly believe I ever thought that, lol!

YES. As much as I love that it came from Laura, I equally would have loved to have KNOWN that he'd already said it. I'm not sure 'Han Solo' was the way to go. And the cutting of 'No' from the smoking scene in 'Islanded in a Stream of Stars' felt criminal.

After finally watching ST, and knowing what Solo's character is all about, I can definitely say that Adama is NOT like Solo at ALL. Adama would have said those words back, he would have said them a thousand times.

This would have been lovely ... damn bald cap (not that I wish Mary had shaved her head or anything!).

They still could have done it, it could have been a really light peck. I think that it would have been a beautiful moment showing his unconditional love and acceptance of her. *le sigh*

oooow read this was so much fun!! I love Argue and have eyesex, that would be amazing, I love their discussions ;)

About my wish: I don't know where but once read that would be amazing one scene: final of the series, they've discovered Earth, Laura is sleeping in a large bed in their cabin and Bill appears in the room with her breakfast... That would be amazing *snif*

Awww, yeah, how much do we wish they'd gotten their cabin? They so deserved it. This would have been great.

Wow- talk about time warp. What a great list!

It is funny how at that point we were still half scared to death that all our shipper hopes were a figment of our fevered imaginations and we wanted tangible proof that the relationship was intimate, as important to them as it was to us and REAL. LOL at Lars happy to settle for even just a hug!

I think we got a treasure trove of stuff from Eddie and Mary's subtle playing and Ron did prove eventually to be the A/R fanboy we always knew he was. As hard as the end was and despite always wanting many unseen/unsaid things revealed - I think we were overall lucky.

Some times my denial-land head likes to delude me into ending the series when they arrived at earth before they realised it was nuked.
Would that have been a better ending than the one we endured? I know some of us nudge- nudge- wink -wink- love -Daybreak - LOL -even all this time on I find that hard to watch. Thanks for reminding me how we were and still are a great community.

I agree! Despite their tragic ending, at least our pair did have a period of happiness/togetherness, even if it was brief.

Plus we got the hottest kiss on the show in "The Oath."

OMG, I totally remember this feeling. It's been canon so long now that I forget how desperate we were for something, ANYTHING, that showed they had a real relationship.

The first thing I did when I met Eddie was to thank him for all of those little improvisations -- a lot of the ship is there!

Hee, I would be totally fine with this ending as long as there was absolute proof that sex happened on NC :)

I can't watch the finale either ... I have to stop it before the end if I do :(

One I'm glad didn't come true: Bill holding Laura's hair as she throws up from treatment. It's a touching idea, and one I could get behind in a story, but as a "sympathetic puker" I'm glad it wasn't filmed.

Then again, going into the finale without knowing for sure about... flamingos... It's funny, I was sooooooo into spoilers in season two, because I was so very afraid they were going to kill Laura off (especially as the cancer was doing nothing, but worsening). After a while, I found that in following the spoilers, I would get crazy worried about all these 'possible scenarios' that in the end, didn't happen. Too much wasted energy, lol. I then decided to go cold turkey, and I couldn't believe how much better I felt ( ... )
