This makes what comes next all the more bittersweet for knowing they were expecting it :(.

Also, I think larsfarm is right -- A/R smut always seems to be written the same. I'm glad she thought to ask for something different, because this was subtly different enough to make it that much more intriguing.

And also kudos for mentioning Laura might not be able to deal with Teh Adama Seckz XD. You handled all of everything very tactfully, and the story flowed very nicely.

I like that you wrote this realistically and had them floating on a high lull at the discovery of Earth. I'd imagine they did let themselves think that it might not be as they expected as they do have superior technology. Yet they were still utterly devastated to find it so desolate. The sex was quite fitting for a woman with advanced breast cancer. She's not going to be all over him and suddenly full of energy - unless perhaps she hadn't started treatment back yet but this still felt very realistic and tender.

I love "Laura Lives" so reading more only makes me happy. This is great. (^_^) I especially enjoyed their speculating about Earth (if only they knew how right they were... well at least they found out).

Mmmm... very nice. I love the more realistic sex and the realisation that things may not be all fluffy and sweetness down on Earth. Great stuff.
