Pickton Texas, which is about 7.5 hours

2) What's the most interesting small town within driving distance?

I don't go to a lot of small towns around here, so I would say Canyon. About 10,000. Has a town square, and, of course, a canyon. :)

3) What's the coolest tourist attraction

I love Canyon (and I really love Palo Duro Canyon - it's definitely one of my favorite places in the state).
