The last episode of Chuck was a bit crazy. There was a point where it really felt like La Femme Nikita. The end, though, was a bit lame-I'm not sure where they're going to go from there-with Casey.
i don't know that i'd go so far as to say it felt LFN, but it did most certainly feel truly spy, as opposed to deeply silly show about spies.
the end was both fantastic and awful. it's Chuck, so right off i know that Casey's situation isn't permanent, so i like that they gave him a lovely bit of depth and backstory angst.
awful, imho, was how Beckman treated him at the end, refusing to return his salute. that was unnecessarly disrespectul and felt out of character to Beckman. sure, Casey fucked up, but he fucked up in a perfectly human way, not a garden variety traitor way. if she recognized that - which clearly, she did else he'd be in a hole somewhere - then refusing to return his salute is childish and petty. it was mollified somewhat by the hand shake, but still.
i still like Beckman; she's an interesting character that they've tried to give some depth to, which is no small feat given how little screen time she has. i just think that how she treated Casey was crappy - like they were trying for something and didn't *qute* hit it.

ITA about how Beckman acted. And I was starting to really like her.
