Ileana and Rob's home was a loft in the Meatpacking District. It was a beautiful, open space, although some of the cops and lawyers in attendance might have remembered it for more sinister reasons -- the conductor Philip Reinhart had been murdered there several years before. His wife was represented by Granick & Melnick and the place had been put up as collateral. When she couldn't pay them, the firm took possession of the loft. The living space had been part of Rob's signing bonus.
Ileana went all-out decorating - the invitations had been designed to look like admission tickets to a ball game and the cupcakes had baseball stitching icing. Jeff stood outside the door a present bag in one hand a thing of cookies in the other. Connie was always a fan of his cookies so he thought she might like some as a gift along with something for the baby. He used his free hand to push his hair back a little it was time for a haircut since it kept falling funny.

"I'm not trying to get out of the shower," Brian tried to explain to his fiance as they approached Rob and Ileana's place, "I'm just saying that maybe I should have stayed home with him," His son Aidan was fast asleep in his arms clutching his stuffed dog.
"And you know that he would have been upset to miss the party," Christina told him with a smile on her face, "Besides you'll have fun," She then knocked on the door with her hand that wasn't holding their gifts.
