Ileana and Rob's home was a loft in the Meatpacking District. It was a beautiful, open space, although some of the cops and lawyers in attendance might have remembered it for more sinister reasons -- the conductor Philip Reinhart had been murdered there several years before. His wife was represented by Granick & Melnick and the place had been put up as collateral. When she couldn't pay them, the firm took possession of the loft. The living space had been part of Rob's signing bonus.

Ileana went all-out decorating - the invitations had been designed to look like admission tickets to a ball game and the cupcakes had baseball stitching icing. While it was themed, it wasn't too cheesy and everything from the decorations to the food was high-end. It was probably also the only baby shower with a free-flowing bar.

Rob Enslow stood at the bar, fixing a drink, his sister Genevieve waiting to fix her own. Ileana was greeting Joan Cutter, who'd just come in a few moments before.

Connie, meanwhile, was standing talking to her sister, ... )

Cole was standing on the other side a couple of gift bags in hand. He was solo since Max was with his mom for most of this week on a vacation. He figured with two baseball fans having a baby he would be alright wearing his Cardinals jersey.

Connie's smile got even wider. "Cole, hey!" She hadn't seen him since he'd needed a warrant a few weeks ago. "Come in, come in."

"Hey, thanks,"he stepped inside smiling at her,"Max can't be here but he did send a gift."

Zach was missing his lunch buddy quite a bit. He was fairly certain he'd lost a bit of weight due to vending machine lunches instead of the usual trips to three different places for a bizarre combination craving platter of awesome. Somehow just the thought of one made his stomach growl. He had a lot of gossip to catch Connie up on - more than just their usual texts could cover - like seeing Lenore, going to London, being sick after going to London which Millie thinks was Amelia's fault. It's been a...busy month.

"Connie!" and really, he's quite possibly overjoyed because it's been that kind of overwhelming month. "You knew I would've crashed the shower anyway, right?" He can't help but grin.

Connie laughed. "You're not the only one. I'm glad you showed up." She patted his arm. Her stomach was too big for much hugging. "How are you? What's been going on?"

"Well, Oliver has decided that the closet is his new favorite place to sleep. Oh and I saw two ex-girlfriends in one month. One for a case and one....not so much for a case," he rubbed the back of his neck and shrugged. "It was weird."

"One for a case? That's...never fun." She considered her own experiences in that area and frowned. "Did the case turn out all right?"
