I've been living in the courtroom all week, when I haven't been back at the office, buried under paperwork for about three or four different trials. Despite all the busyness, we've hardly seen Jack lately. He's been flitting between campaign events and D.A. press conferences ( Read more... )

I think half the office would probably leave.

I don't know if I'd go into private practice, but it would be the best paying option.

There's always corporate law. You'd make a ton working for faceless companies.

You'd really quit? I don't know but maybe you could adapt that "keep your enemies close" way of thinking?

I know. *sigh* I've just seen firsthand the way that Governor Shalvoy's office works - he's self-serving - and Chappell's his guy. I don't think I want to work for anyone that politically dependent on someone.

Agreed on all points. Working white collar for the DA was bad enough, I can't imagine corporate law.

Although.... if Chappell wins, we could start our own practice. How does Rubirosa and Novak LLC sound to you? We could get a bunch of lackies and afford vacation homes in the Hamptons (or at least better apartments) and defend sleazy rich people.

Though I kind of like being an ADA. And my apartment. But it is a thought.

Jack already said he'd go with me. "McCoy & Rubirosa, no client too guilty!" is actually what he said. ...then, of course, I had to correct him. Rubirosa & McCoy. *grin*

Ah damn. Well if you need lackies I'll be most likely job hunting. Will you pay me a little more than minimum wage to be a paralegal? Though with this economy I guess I can't be picky.

I'm sure we'd have room for junior associates. Or senior associates, even. *smirk*
