[Jay was also on his way to the World Tree, arriving not long after Anise. As she was the one who had taken the quest, he assumed that she had already gathered the necessary information on what they were looking for.

The first thing Jay noticed upon his arrival was the devious look on Anise's face.]

[Upon seeing Jay, Anise immediately puts on her trademark cute charm.]

Oh, Mr. Jay! Why, you remembered my name~!

Devious? Who, cute little me~? Never! ♥

[She hands him the paper with the picture of the saffron flower.] The nice man over at the grocer's gave me this. He said he'd pay whoever collected ten flowers for him, and that the flowers only grow on the trees.

[Surprised by the cute charm, Jay's heart skipped a beat as his face began to blush.]

U-um...there's no need to call me "Mr." Just call me Jay. So, what exactly are you smiling about then?

[Jay took the picture, studying the flower for a moment.]

I see. I haven't seen any of those yet in my missions out here, so we might have to head out a little farther. The monsters will probably be stronger out there, so we'd better be careful.

[He handed the paper back to Anise and began to walk past the World Tree. Seeing as he was to test her competence, he needed to learn a little more about her. He smiled as he asked his next question.]

So, Anise, what are your qualifications? Do you have any battle capabilities?

[D'awww, she made him blush. Perhaps it would be better to tone down the cute.]

Okay, Jay! And why wouldn't I smile? It's such a great day to be outside!

[She gave him a sharp salute.] Tougher monsters, huh? No problem!

I've been the personal attendant of Fon Master Ion for about a year and a half. Ion's the head of the Order of Lorelei, so he's really important when it comes to keeping the countries of Kimlasca and Malkuth peaceful. He's a nice guy, but sometimes his kindness gets him into trouble. I'm the one who pulls him out of it.

As for combat... well, that's something special, so I can't just go out and brag about it, now can I? ♥

[She tries to take his hand.] Come on! Let's go look for those flowers!
