Why: Luke meets up with someone from Auldrant, it turns out to be someone he knows! (And vice versa.)

[Ion stood outside the entrance to the sitting area, hesitating briefly before stepping inside. He wondered how exactly he would recognize the person he was supposed to meeting with. Perhaps they should have arranged a way for them to spot each other beforehand. His worries quickly proved to be groundless, however, as he spotted a familiar red-head.]

Luke?

[The Fon Master briefly paused, temporarily stunned into silence, before breaking into a grin and repeating his friend's name, louder this time.]

[ariseandresound]

[It wasn't long before Luke registered the sound of someone calling his name. That voice... He'd heard that voice before, he was sure of it! Luke craned his neck to look behind him, his feet shuffling about a second behind his eyes, so he now stood facing someone he most definitely recognized.]

Uh--! Ion!

[It was all he could get out. The last time he'd seen Ion, had been within Mt. Zaleho. Ion had been propped up in Luke's arms as his very existence had faded before their eyes. And yet here he was! This had to be some kind of crazy dream. Or maybe he was dead after all. Whatever it was, a wave of emotion hit Luke like a solid wall. What could he possibly say without sounding like a huge idiot? Luke could feel his body quivering as he bit his lower lip to hold back the onslaught. How did Tear manage to hide her feelings so well? Luke felt like laughing, crying, staying where he was, and running over to hug Ion all at the same time. In the end he stood rooted where he was.]

I...!

[Luke forced himself to breathe and found his voice

[Ion was caught off guard, seeing Luke so visibly shaken. He hadn't expected to have another chance to stand here and talk with Luke like this, both of them in perfectly good health, and he was so grateful for the opportunity that he suddenly wanted to cry.

He wiped away the tears that were beginning to form and smiled, his voice trembling as he began to speak.]

I'm glad to see you again, Luke! I suppose you were the poster on the message board, weren't you? How has everything been in Auldrant while I've been gone? Is Tear okay?

[ariseandresound]

[Luke hastily rubbed at his eyes and then loped over to where Ion stood.] Yeah. Who'd have thought, huh? If I'd known you were the one who answered my post, I'd have gotten here a lot sooner!

[It took a few more minutes for Luke to get it together. Clenching and unclenching his hands into fists a few times seemed to help. This was going to take some serious explaining.]

Uh. Well, I'm not really sure.
She was...okay...the last time I saw her, but, I'm not sure about now. I mean, her body's fine. The miasma's gone, but a lot of things happened since--

[Luke caught himself and averted his eyes as he finished the sentence.] ...Since you were last with us. If you want to know the truth, I probably shouldn't even be here, but somehow I am.

At least Auldrant should be safe.
