[It had been some time since Ion tore out Arietta's heart and destroyed it like a starving liger on fresh kill. The sheer devastation caused by the impact of the merciless realization that Arietta now had nothing left to lose.
Now as the girl weakly roamed town, in complete emotional distress with a face void of expression, she question her purpose for living, the reason she was called to this world, all while trying to wake up from this horrible nightmare with no aveil.
Burying her face in her doll, she continued her forlorn march, not paying attention to where she was going. As a result of this, Arietta walked straight into someone. With a startled yelp, she flinched backwards, but ultimately tripped and fell with a thud.]
