Tear was standing off to one side... no, actually she was slumping just a little bit, and her face looked pale.

All this talk of the spirits of the dead, of ghosts...

She didn't like it one little bit.

It was one thing to honor the dead, to exchange happy memories, sad memories, to console those who had to suffer through painful loss, but why did everyone have to bring ghosts into it? Ghosts weren't like normal spirits - they were odd-looking and liked to jump out and scare the fonons right out of you. She had heard that they even knew special artes that could cause harm to the living, but that protected them from any effects that even the most skilled fonist could cast on them.

This wasn't fair. Something she couldn't fight.
That she was also afraid of.

[Ion, on the other hand, was thrilled with the whole event. He had somehow managed to locate a cheagle costume at Blessenwood's Inn, and was currently running around from one candy collection point to the next. He was a child, after all. The fake ears he wore bounced merrily as he ran up to Tear.]

Tear! Isn't this fun?

[Let's just say she's in her Monster Collector costume. That works.]

I'm not certain I'd call it "fun", but...

[Tear happens to look up then. Ion just so happens to look very adorable and fluffy as a cheagle. D'aww. The melodist blushes slightly. How cute.]

F-fon Master, that costume...?

[No, inquiring about it would be rude. So she settled for a basic compliment.]

...it looks good on you.

[Oh, dear. Tear was giving him that face she usually reserved for Mieu.]

Ah, this? The innkeeper had it... I'm not sure why, but since the cheagle is the sacred beast of the Order, it seemed fitting.

[Was that Arietta headed this way? Probably time to make an exit, then...]

Excuse me, Tear. [The Fon Master nodded to the approaching pair of Norma and Arietta, moving away from Tear to prevent any unwanted conflict.]

Jay attended the festival wearing formal attire as well, a blue jacket with a red tie, with accompanying white shorts and stockings, and black shoes.

The battle with the negativity had worn him out, as his heart was still aching from the stress it had forced upon him. He still couldn't tell if the negativity had really infected him or not. It wasn't like last time, so he should have been able to resist it. And yet he was still hurting inside. He had only come to this event hoping to take his mind off of everything, hoping that the relaxation would help him. However, there was no telling how he would feel if he saw Asch again...

With a deep sigh, Jay walked over to one of the stands and poured himself a cup of fruit punch.

Sheena began at the chapel. There were a lot of people she could have honored...but she had one in particular on her mind this time. Over the flame she said a quick prayer, and bowed, and left before she could get too wrapped up in missing him.

Of course, it would be hard to tell it was her as she emerged from the chapel. Really, she thought her costume was quite good. Even if the stuff she'd had to paint on her face was irritating.

[[Sheena has done her best to dress as Celsius. Hehe]]

"I was wondering where you were."

Genis waved to her as he made his way towards his friend. Grinning slightly, he adjusted his cat ears as he then added, "You're going to have fun tonight, right? I think we all needed this after what's been going on lately."

It had only been a few days ago. A few hours since he had been brought into Altessa's house, got into bed after listening to that insufferably annoying Genis prattle on about the pink-haired girl, and was about to pretend like he was asleep for hours on end. Of course, that was before he felt something pulling on him... and ended up at the base of this tree ( ... )

There was something off about this festival. Genis wasn't exactly sure why he agreed to attend tonight - though the food probably had something to do with it, and he did enjoy being out with people.

Well, he enjoyed being around people when he wasn't forced to dress up in costume. Sighing as he carried around his fake cat tail, Genis picked up a cookie with his free hand and started wandering around the festival grounds. Surely there'd be someone he knew here... though if it were Mao (who'd half-forced him into this costume because they'd "be matching twins!") or Raine, he'd probably have to pass and pretend he was more engrossed with how much he looked like the Centurion of Darkness.

"Jeez," He muttered to himself. "They were being ridiculous..."

He paused, staring at an all-too familiar face. Wasn't he supposed to be--- how'd he get here--- Martel. Even after all this time, she still believed in him? What the heck?

"M-Mithos? Is that you...?"

Was that Genis? Mithos tore his attention away from two gossiping teen girls - damn humans, not having anything better to do than talk about other people - and looked towards the half-elf. He looked ridiculous... almost like Tenebrae. How long had it been since he had talked to that Centurion? It had to have been at least a few centuries.

Mithos smiled. The last he had seen Genis, they were playing on Altessa's floor. Something he hated, of course, but it felt oddly... fun. He never really got to do much playing during his true childhood due to the fact that none of the true elves wanted to play with a half-elf, and Martel wasn't always available to play. Mithos waved at Genis. "Hi Genis. I didn't know you were here, too." He said this while maintaining his innocent child voice, something he resented nowadays.

He thought he heard someone mention a "tree spirit" earlier. Did that possibly have something to do with why he continued to feel Martel's presence?

This was going to get awkward pretty quickly, wasn't it? Managing a smile, Genis casually shrugged, "I've been here for at least three months now. It's not bad here in Blessenwood."

Had Mithos even heard of Ad Libitum and what exactly had been going on with his sister? Genis had absolutely no way of knowing if his friend had even been in town long enough to hear about the rumors (and judging by the lack of a costume, the answer was probably no).

"How long have you been here?" He then quickly added, finishing off his cookie afterwards. To be honest, he would've offered Mithos food too, but he didn't need to eat, right? And Genis hadn't made anything for the festival anyway... "I mean, it doesn't seem like you're really into the festival spirit."

[Arietta wasn't all that eager to take part in a social gathering, but Ion was going to be here and there was no way she was going to let him out of her sight again.

The young God-General didn't melt into the crowd. She stay as far away as she could, but stayed within hearing and sight range of Ion. She was wearing her formal God-General uniform modified with cat-like ears on the hat and a tail at her waist. Even her doll resembled a cat.

Arietta stood out of the way just under a tree, remaining as quiet as she could possibly be, keeping an gentle, yet protective, eye on Ion as he enjoyed himself. Deep down, though, she was itching to join the fun, but somewhat afraid to do so.]

[Norma had been thrilled to find out about this festival. A good celebration was just what this place needed. That it was a costume party just made it even better. Norma had decided to dress as an Oresoren. Her face was painted with a black nose and whiskers and she was wearing an odd tunic and paw-like gloves. Round, fluffy ears bobbed on her head as she skipped happily from stall to stall.

But it seemed that not everyone was as excited about the celebration as Norma was. There were far too many long faces around for her liking. Didn't they know that people were supposed to have fun at a festival?

Well, if they didn't, then Norma would just have to remind them. She looked around, deciding on a good target, then nodded to herself and made a beeline for the timid-looking girl in the cat costume.]

Hey there! Are you enjoying the party, ors?

[Arietta glanced at this girl dressed like an otter. She wondered what sort of person would go "ors" like it was normal. It seemed kind of cute, but Arietta felt she needed to remain professional, even if this was a time to relax and cut loose.

But still...These other people. Could they be trusted? Especially this otter girl.

Having really nothing to say to her, Arietta took a single step away from the otter girl, and glanced at her one last time before returning her passionate gaze towards Ion.]

Hey, don't just ignore me...

[Then, realizing that the girl was staring at something, Norma turned to follow her gaze.

Oho. Green, huh? How interesting. But Norma would have to handle this delicately; this girl looked like she would scamper away at the slightest provocation. She looked back at Arietta with a gentle smile.]

So, do you know Green, then? He's nice, huh?
